? The type of scenery that you see in the travel magazines where people are enjoying themselves in paradise, holding their kite on the left hand and a coconut cocktail on the right hand. Well, we have a wonderful news for you, this unaccessible dream is actually easy to catch !
And the destination is of course... Saint-Martin!
Saint-Martin is not the most famous Caribbean Island for kitesurfing so far but its reputation on that subject is not fairely evaluated. Which can be seen as a great thing for us as we can ride alone on perfect spots most of the time ;)
We have many spots
available with different characteristics, for every tastes and levels. Flat water on crystal clear lagoon, open ocean area, waves... Name it and we have it !
KITESURF IN PERFECT CONDITIONS
Warm water, crystal clear ocean, sunny days, gentle wind, ideal orientation: St. Martin has it all.
Most of the time, all of the famous worldwide spots for kitesurfing are the places where you can find a thermal wind that goes up every day at the same time and goes down in the afternoon. It is indeed reassuring to be confident of getting some good wind when you go on a kitesurf trip... And that is why they are so popular
But being famous does not always mean being great!
Saint-Martin does not have that type of wind. But during the winter time (December to April), which is also our high touristic season, the strong winds are part of our everyday life in Saint-Martin.
The average wind strength during that period is between 15 to 18 knots. The months of April and May are usually quiet, and in July & August, the wind is often back to the island, on a regular basis.
Constant wind, ideal water, perfect climate.
WIND SEASON IN ST. MARTIN
Winter Season (December 15th to April 15th)
STRONG WARM WIND
Our winter in your summer in terms of temperature but it also comes with strong wind on most days.
From 18 to 25 knots.
Spring Season(April 15th to June 30th)
MODERATE WARM WIND
During that time of the year, the wind is more capricious and shows up in a less continuous way than the rest of the year.
From 13 to 16 knots.
Summer Season(July 1st to August 30th)
STEADY WIND
Our summer time is great for kitesurfing ! The island is also less crowded and the spots almost empty.
From 15 to 18 knots.
Hurricane Season(September 1st to November)
NOT RECOMMENDED
Our low season is not the best for kitesurfing, wind wise... But also because this is our hurricane season.

WHAT TYPE OF GEAR SHOULD YOU USE?

You might be wondering what size of kite you should bring or rent for your kitesurfing vacations in Saint-Martin.
In Saint-Martin and its surroundings, we mostly use the same size of kite all year long. The size of the kite you use depends on the main things :
- Your weight
- The strength of the wind
On our "Friendly Island", the wind speed does not change a lot. On a regular basis,
- Women use a kite size between 7 square meters and 9 square meters.
- Men, on their end, use a kite size between 10 square meters and 12 square meters.

1. Warm weather
The average temperature of the air all year long is from 25 to 30 degrees (celsius). Forget about your coats, long sleeves shirts, pants... You can only pack tank tee-shirts, shorts and bikinis in your suitcase ; That is all you may need here! And as per the Caribbean sea, well... Get ready! Our beautiful ocean temperature stays between 25 to 28 celsius degrees which makes it pretty confortable to kite surf with a board-short for you guys and light bikinis for you ladies 👙
2. Caribbean water
The beauty of a spot depends mostly of the beauty of the water... And we are pretty spoiled here with our crystal turquoise clear water. Not a session passes by without making high fives with sea turtles, jumping under sting rays and scrolling above colourful fish. In Saint-Martin we do not share our spot with hundreds of kite surfers but only with the scenic underwater world.

3. Average wind strength and good orientation
The wind strenght on Saint-Martin is average so it makes it accessible for everybody and every levels. Plus, most of our spots have an on-shore wind
and they are therefore, very secured.
No matter what happens, the wind is always going to push you back to the beach.
4. Attractive spots
We have a lot a great spots and all available within a few minutes drive or... by "kite-hoping" for the most adventurous of you. That's what we do 😊

Saint-Martin belongs to the gold triangle of three islands : Saint-Barth, Anguilla and Saint-Martin.
The three of them have different assets and lucky us! The three of them are perfect for the practice of kite surf.
KITESURFING IN ANGUILLA

Anguilla is a British island located on the west side of Saint-Martin.
It is a very flat island with huge white sand beaches facing an immensity of crystal water. Every year Anguilla is named on the top 3 of the best beaches of the world... So what about kitesurfing in the lagoons in front of the breathtaking beaches?
If you are looking for kitesurfing on a paradise spot with absolutely nobody else, Anguilla is a must. No kite surf school over there, no kite surf community, it will basically be just you on the water!

KITESURFING IN SAINT-BARTH
Enjoy kitesurfing in light wind with the perfect scenery of this precious Caribbean island.
Well known to be the island where all the famous & rich people spend their vacations, Saint-Barth is not only that !
St. Barth is a cute island where everything is top notch and so does the kitesurfing school over there. "7eme ciel kite surf", owned by our partner Enguerrand is located in the lagoon of Grand Cul-de-Sac.
The spot is in a cove bay with a sand bar in its center and small waves on the back. Everything you may need is there. Furthermore, St. Barth is easily reachable from Saint-Martin, either by ferry (45 minutes), charter planes (10 minutes), private boat charter or even helicopter!!

The best kitesurf spots of Saint-Martin
1. Orient Beach
The spot of Orient Beach is the most popular one in Saint-Martin. Here, you will find everything you need : open ocean, flat & clear lagoon, sand bar and waves.
Works in all wind orientation
2. Cul de Sac
Cul-de-sac is a small spot with flat water and a pretty big sand bar in its middle. It's the perfect place to practice your free style moves and pop as much as you want !
South-East orientation
3. Galion Bay
Galion bay is another great & large spot on Saint-Martin with flat water thanks to a wide barrier reef that closes the bay and creates the well known surf spot of Galion.
East orientation
4. Nettle Bay Lagoon
Nettle Bay lagoon is absolutely perfect for beginners. The water there is most of the time very flat and the surroundings will make you feel very secured. Try it !
